Having a phobia about a particular thing that is feared, can turn the persons life upside down as just hearing the word or seeing a picture of the thing they fear, will create intense anxiety, and all rational reasoning goes out of the window.
The phobia grips you in such intense fear that you will do everything they can to avoid the situation that causes the phobia. They learn to live with it until it gets to intense & upsetting that they seek therapy & other treatments to help them overcome the Phobia.
Some phobias have an impressive sounding names, but there’s nothing impressive about the fear attached to them. Some common phobias are:

Aerophobia – Fear of Flying
